McCutcheon Met With Texas Tech O-Coordinator Neal Brown

Matty V. is reporting that athletics director John McCutcheon met with current Texas Tech offensive coordinator Neal Brown earlier this week. I mention Brown as one of the candidates for the opening previously.

There has been some speculation regarding coach Neal Brown’s current salary. Would he have to actually take a pay cut to come to Massachusetts?

UMass Football Head Coach Candidates — Neal Brown

RDM runs through his take on the candidates for the open UMass football head coach position.

Neal Brown is the current offensive coordinator at Texas Tech University. He played football for the University of Massachusetts during 2001 – 2002. Before that he played at the University of Kentucky. He earned his undergraduate degree in Business Management in 2002 and his Masters in Business Administration in 2005, both from UMass.

I presume this is where he learned how to make this nice PowerPoint about TTU and the two high safety set.

He has been the OC at Texas Tech since 2010. In his first season the Red Raiders finished fourth in the Big 12 conference in total offense with over 460 yards-per-game, and fourth in scoring at a 33 points-per-game clip.
