Springfield’s Sha’Ki Holdines Verbals To UMass

The University of Massachusetts added a third verbal for the class of 2013 late this weekend, as reported by the local branch of the WorldWide Leader.

Holdines is listed as a defensive end or linebacker on various recruiting sites. Holdines runs 6-foot-3, 265-pounds and also played tight end in high school.

Sounds good, right? Here’s the best part…

Rivals has Sha’Ki as a 3-star recruit. He held an offer from Uconn when he committed to UMass. That’s what we like to see. A local, 3-star kid!? Doesn’t get much better than that.

Congrats, Sha’Ki. Welcome to UMass Nation.

Sha is extremely excited to be apart of the UMass family. He wanted to go to UConn or UMass(local so we can watch him play). Coming out of the Springfield School System we learned of his school qualifying measurements post the UConn camp when he was offered. Based off his future options, we decided that it would be best for him to go to UMass.

Congrats on your son finding his new home! And — as an added bonus — it's only down the street from your home! Go UMass!
