NCAA Tourney Or Bust For UMass Lax In 2012

The UMass lax team continues to bring some positive vibes to Amherst.

In lieu of a UMass basketball run into deep March, Minutemen fans have another team to get behind this spring. Thus far UMass lacrosse has lived up to their billing, and then some.

UMass, currently ranked number 8 in the nation, now holds wins over two other ranked opponents. The team previous beat #12 Bucknell, and added #11 Ohio State to their key wins list on this past Saturday afternoon.

It looks like 2012 could be a return to glory for the lacrosse program.

UMass made the NCAA quarterfinals in 2005. The team followed up that awesome run with a national runner-up performance in 2006. Since then the lacrosse well has run a bit dry.

Garber Field is on of the athletic programs greatest hidden gems. In 2012, Garber field might play as large a role as ever.

The Minutemen will have to play on the road just three more times this season. It’s what seems like a favorable schedule. Garber gorillas rejoice.

When the new ranking are announced, we anticipate the Minutemen moving up from their current #8 ranking.
