The outcome to game one of the Battle 4 Atlantis weekend was not shocking. Sticking to that script; neither was the final score to game two. That said, the way UMass got to it’s victory over Utah was not easily predictable.
The Minutemen held off the Utes by nailing 15 three-pointers on Friday night.
Here are our video highlights:
It isn’t the way we’d expect UMass to beat teams this season. However, a great night from beyond the arch was a welcome change over last year’s struggles.
I’m extremely interested to see how the team looks tonight against a College of Charleston team that prefers to run as well. Utah was able to run with the Minutemen was quite longer than I would have expected. This, coupled with the fact that UMass won’t hit 15 three-pointers every game, was quite disconcerting.
If not for the team’s fantastic shooting performance, I might be writing this with an entirely different tone. For now, I remain optimistic.
